  • Jenny Craig

Making a decision to get on a diet and exercise more was really important to me! I figure that I am starting a new life I might as well making it a healthy start.

After meeting with the Jenny Craig director at my local center I signed up that night and bought the food to start the next day. I couldnt believe how much food that I had to eat through out the day. I thought to myself holy moly they are trying to fatten me up!!!

The program is extremly simple!!! I started at 1500 calories a day in take level (sounds like a car ha!) My day consist of breakfast with fruit and coffee, snack which is a protein bar (yummy) and a fruit, lunch with a garden salad and a fruit, dinner with vegtables and finally a snack with a fruit. So I spend my day eatting here and there which in turn keeps me from being hungry.

I started my 4th week on JC (Jenny Craig) and in total have lost 4.8 lbs (we'll just say 5 lbs). I couldnt be more happier. I feel so energized and this is coming from a person who lives on very little sleep between work, class, and school work.

If anyone is consider dieting I really suggest Jenny Craig. Its expensive buying food every week but the food is AWESOME!!! Which I was totally expecting food to taste like NutriSystems.

So I am off to eat my lunch its the South Western Burrito with a bit of gucamole on the side! In the words of my buddy Rachael Ray "YUMMO!!"

  • European Sizes

So I can't even remember the last time I noticed a size in a dress that I have purchased. Actually the last dress that I bought wouldn't zip the last inch and I went and had the seems opened a bit. So who knows what size it was.

I was expecting during the dress ordering process that my size would be 14 or 16 only because I am a size 12 in pants and figure that dress sizes are a bit bigger. ( I know I know...I am not dress literate). So to my surprise everything is in european sizes :-/ What the heck? I think was what I had said to my mom.

Nella my dress consultant and the seamstress at the salon really helped my understand that the european sizes are based on your measurements. So I could have gone with a size 20 BUT I would have to lose 5 inches overall!! HA! thats easier said than done. Last thing I wanted was to be 2 months before the wedding and gaining 5 inches!!! that would be a nightmare and a half! So my mom said that I better go with a the size bigger and just have alterations. Which I thought "AMEN to that sister" So I placed my dress order for a Marisa Style #504 in ivory a size 22.

Now all the way home my mother and I are thinking about diets. I TRY to workout twice a week but that really doesnt happen much! So that night while laying in bed and talking to my FH he said that what ever I decided to do he will support me. So my goal was to find a diet and exercise plan that I could stick to and love!

WeightWatchers was my first thought. I had succesfully lost 20 lbs before a cruise two years ago. Needless to say I gained it all of it back + 10 (for good luck). I knew how the program worked and honestly I loved it. Yet I did learn how to save points and save them on a nice and yummy 7 Layer Burrito from Taco Bell which has 2000 calories!!! Wowzers Bowzers!!!

South Beach Never tried and dont know anyone who has. So I wanted to scratch that one of the list afraid that it would be similar to Atkins

Atkins that means NO rice I am Puerto Rican I cant go a week with out eating rice.

Jenny Craig If you havent seen the commercials all over TV then you live in a cave! I really considered this diet. why? I dont know! So I called found the local center and made an appointment to get answers and the low down about Jenny Craig

  • As I decend from Cloud 9.....MY DRESS

So the previous post about the dress that I was in love with. I looked at touched it and I thought I would marry it until I saw the price tag on it. I just couldnt swollen spending $5000 on a dress. So my consultant at the bridal salon was amazing!!! She asked me to tell her every little thing that I see myself wearing on my wedding day. Ofcourse I had a laundry list for her! She shouldnt have asked. LOL

After leading my mom and I into a mirror covered room she started whipping out dress after dress and all I had to say was "yes" or "no". At first I felt bad saying no (like she made the dresses) and Nella (my consultant) said to be honest she doesnt care! So when I saw something hideous I made the worse face .....hahaha!!! I had a great time.

My mom was all into it as well. She isnt won to go crazy over anything, her mind set is what needs to be done needs to be done and thats that. But she was all there with Nella giving opinions and different ideas for me. Not to mention Nella helped me talk my mom into starting to look for a dress! My mother has an amazing body but covers herself from head to toe! Me well I am the oposite!

Okay I know...shut up already and reveal the picture.....

here she is in all her glory!

I also ordered my veil. I knew that I was in love with the Mantilla veil My veil is length is longer than my dress and I am sooo happy with that discision. I wanted a mantilla veil to tie in my heritage and really wanted people to notice my veil which is Chapel length.

My dress is by the designer Marisa by Tamara Kristen. Which in all honesty I have never heard of in my life but I am sooo happy that this is my dress.

How did you know that your dress was the one?

  • I know I am a stranger

Okay, so I know I am a stranger! But I promise its me and I havent forgotten about you ladies. I had previously mentioned that I am entering my final semester of college and I have not even picked up a wedding magazine. To be honest I am going through withdrawals!!!! But I will make it becuase the work load is getting a bit lighter not by much but just a little bit. I feel that I am in control of my time management skills. I now book my days with things to do and time schedules only to try and fit as much in one day as possible.

I took a two month hiatous and I cant explain how school and work had me feeling but I have a few pics to let you know how I felt

Be prepared for some juicy entries about my concert, addition to wedding party, Godparent dilema, new wedding planner, ex wedding planner (who I still dont have money from) and finally the most devistation the wedding coordinator at the reception site moving on!!!
